News & Media
The press has shown an insatiable desire to cover our innovative project.
Every time we’ve felt they’ve finally had their fill, they contact us again to send a camera crew and reporters to observe you and your Spanish friends.
It’s been unbelievable: 50 prime-time minutes of TV, including 10 minutes on Spain’s equivalent of America’s “60 minutes”, 30 radio chats, a handful of full-page articles in major newspapers or Sunday supplements, and a score of smaller references in magazines and regional publications.
- In the Gredos venue, Antena 3 (a private Spanish channel) did a 10 minute show on us.
- In the U.S., the popular Frommer’s Travel age on the Internet has done three full articles on our endeavor and the Wall Street Journal devoted a syndicated column to it that also appeared in 40 major dailies around the country.
It’s not often one creates a foreign-language village in the heart of a country. Phil Marty, a journalist for the travel section of the Chicago Tribune, who came as a participant in May 2003, ran such a fantastic story on us that everyone who read it was mesmerized and just had to get a place on one of the programs.
We have been featured in Times Online, Rick Steve’s Travel, The Guardian and an article by Shirley Neal on the Durham Region (a local paper in Toronto), The Sydney Herald Tribune, MSNBC Travel section, MoneyWeek magazine (the best selling financial magazine in the UK), Kiplinger magazine, The Chicago Tribune, South African Times and The Wichita Eagle. And of course, the endless amount of blogs narrating the experience the volunteers enjoyed during their week or weeks at the program!
In addition, we own and operate the fastest-growing radio station in Spain, currently with 650,000 regular listeners and many more tuning in over the Internet. Some of our Volunteers may end up being interviewed over the phone on one of our live shows.
As an expanding company, our TV coverage is also expanding. We have 24h coverage in through cable, complimented by limited daily coverage on free-toair channels all over Spain.
