Training Course

Who it’s aimed at

Our training course is a vital element of our success. Our reputation is based solely on the quality of the teachers that we work with and therefore we need to be sure that all our teachers effectively use our method as well as having the necessary spark to ignite their students’ imagination and motivate them to really want to learn English. Everyone who works with us, regardless of experience, goes through our training.

Content

Over the two weeks, we cover all the aspects you need to become a great teacher.

The schedule is as follows:

9:30 - 13:30 Group Sessions

We go through:

  • the method of teaching
  • the range of materials that you’ll be using in class (all produced by Vaughan Systems)
  • basic grammar points
  • how to make the students work hard in a truly dynamic way; so that they leave each class looking forward to the next one.

14:30 - 18:30 Practice Classes

You'll be teaching “real” Spanish students who will evaluate you on a range of areas so that you know, on a day-to-day basis, what you’re doing well and in which areas you need to improve.

Homework

You will also be set homework which helps us to ensure that you’re grasping the concepts that we cover in the morning sessions and which also give you the opportunity to prepare additional materials that you’ll be using both in the practice classes and when you start “for real”.

Where it takes place

The training course takes place in our Madrid offices.

Do I need any qualifications or experience?

Inclusion in the training course depends on successfully passing a personal interview. It’s not necessary to have previous teaching experience but you must have a positive, can-do attitude and be prepared to work hard. As there is a lot of constructive criticism on the course, we are looking for humble teachers, passionate about teaching and always looking to improve.

Why we don’t charge for it

We don’t charge for the training course because we only train those people who we believe really have what it takes to become a great teacher. However we do require, in return for our investment in training you, a commitment of at least one academic year. You can find useful infomation regarding accomodation and living in Spain by clicking here.

What we expect from you

You will be professional, dedicated exhibit total responsibility, show interest in your job and demonstrate a commitment to constantly improve. We don't require any teaching experience or ESL certificates such as CELTA, TEFL, DELTA, etc; however, we do expect you to have professional experience and/or a university degree.

What you can expect from us

We will thoroughly train you, help you to improve constantly and pay you better than most language companies.
